Hope on the Horizon? Global Urbanization, MegaCities, and Religious Education
Eileen Daily (Boston University)

Workshop. [Outline] This workshop will invite participants to consider religious education’s response to the anticipated growth of urbanization on the near horizon of 2030 and the longer horizon of 2100. They will do this first with attention to the changes in their local contexts over the past few decades. Attention will then turn to the agenda set by the United Nations regarding housing and sustainability with special attention to the anticipated increase in slum dwelling. Who are the religious learners? How will religious educators reach them? How does local religious education affect global urbanization?
